It's a bullshit list, but thought I'd share it. Of course Social D should be higher in my book and who knew Joy Divison was punk?

What did AFI influence? Besides Davey Havock wanting to be a trent reznor/glen danzig wannabe who now parades around like emo jack ass. Don't get me wrong, i used to like AFI, but their last couple of albums have sucked ass. And when your whole fan base (15 year old girls) is the same fan base for Good Charlotte and Simple Plan...are you really considered a punk band?

Ha! These lists are funny! If it's most influential ON punk bands, I think the Stooges should be much higher, although I don't consider them an actual punk band. Love them or hate them who has AFI influenced? That one is really odd!

You guys will probably kill me, but as much as I like Social D I don't see them as been all that influential. The Stray Cats brought rockabilly to the mainstream, and I don't think you can say Social D started alt-country. When I hear a pick scratch in a song I think of Mike Ness, but I don't think he can claim it as a signature move. Social D is one of my favorite interpretations of other influencers like the Stones, NY Dolls, and Johnny Cash. But then with AFi on the list, Social D definately belongs!

Wow. The Misfits were number three? On most lists, the Misfits do not even register.

I kinda agree with you Jen415, but I've heard countless bands list Social D as one of their influences, so they must be influential then right?
